EAA Chapter 1112 Fly-In and Starduster Open
House - 2002
When - Friday and Saturday, May
17-18, 2002
Entry/arrival deadline for judging - 11am, Sat.,
5/18.
Chapter 1112 Awards presentation will be at 4pm, Sat. 5/18.
Sunday is basically Departure Day with no special
activities other than the traditional EAA Pancake Breakfast
Where - Oroville (California) Municipal Airport (OVE), South
Ramp
New This Year! - Judging - Chapter 1112 will present Judged Classes for all visiting aircraft who choose to register for it.
Judging registration will be a $5.00 donation for the benefit of the Oroville Foundation of Flight.
This will be in addition to the traditional judging Starduster has done for their marque.
Classes will be formed for any group consisting of 3 or more aircraft.
Possible classes are: Homebuilt - plans, Homebuilt - kit, Homebuilt - biplane, Antique, Classic, Contemporary, Ultralight (fixed wing, trike, etc. depending on attendence),
Light, Rotary, and others. An award will be presented to each class winner. In addition, there will be two overall awards - Grand Champion and People's Choice.
The chairman reserves the right to add or delete classes as appropriate.
Two additional awards may be given for longest distance traveled from
out-of-state and longest distance traveled from within California, if appropriate. |

The Fly-In Display Site
The event display site is on the
South Ramp. Drive-in visitors can get there by turning off of Oroville
Dam Blvd. and going south on Larkin Rd. to Airport Dr., then north on Airport
about 100 yds and then left in through the gate. There will be signs along
the way to assist.
- Camping Available -
Overnight camping is available at the Oroville Foundation
of Flight site. We have a manicured lawn area with lights and water
available. A port-a-john is also on site. |
